I am getting a CD-ROM access error message when attempting to launch the game.
Uninstall and then reinstall the game from the original CD, and do not install any no-cd cracks to allow you to run the game without the CD. You need the executable from the Jedi Academy or Jedi Outcast™ CD and not the bootlegged one.
This error occurs in multiplayer if you are using a cracked executable (NO-CD crack, illegal warez version of game). How do I fix the CL_ParsePacketEntities Error I am getting when I try to play?
Consult Windows Help for information on how to do this. If the problem persists, you may want to adjust your Page file settings to allow Windows to start the game with more virtual memory. We recommend that you exit the game and reboot your computer to clear the memory before playing again. This occurs in part because of the higher memory requirements for Windows 2000 and XP. When playing the game on a 256MB system with Windows 2000 or XP, you may see an Out of Virtual Memory Error while playing or when exiting this game. I am getting a message, "Out of Virtual Memory" when running the program in Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Press the tilde key (~) once more to close the command console. Then type "give all" and hit enter to give yourself all weapons, full ammo and full life & shields. If you want immediate access to the other weapons in the game after jumping to a level, bring up the console once more (shift ~), and type "helpusobi 1", and hit enter to enable cheats. The level jump code will only give you access to the Bryar pistol and the stun baton or lightsaber. For instance, type "devmap kejim_base" and then hit enter to jump to the 2nd level of the game. Hold down the Shift key and press the tilde key (~) to access the command console.
Start a New Game at any difficulty setting you want. We have received reports of issues using some saved games made with the original version of the game (1.02a) with the updated version (1.03), so if you install the 1.03 update we recommend that you try starting a new game, and then use a cheat code to jump to the level that you were playing. Install the Jedi Outcast™ 1.04 update (available here). To correct this issue, please uninstall the game and then reinstall the game to a new directory location (such as C:\JK2) using the Custom Install option, so it is a clean install. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest endeavours to bring the Star Wars franchise into VR.This error is generally caused by a problem with the saved game, a corrupt install, or due to certain 3rd party mods for the game.
You can download the mod from Github, and visit Leopold’s own website here. However, Leopold warns that Oculus Touch compatibility is not currently available, and in fact he’s not sure if it ever will be. Leopold’s mod for Star Wars: Jedi Knight II – Jedi Outcast includes a lot of minor hacks and adjustments to the third-person action videogame, including free-look during cutscenes and a first-person view enabled for Lightsaber action as default. Originally released in 2002 for Windows PC, GameCube and Xbox, the videogame remains available to download via Steam, currently priced at £6.99 GBP. One brave Star Wars fan by the name of Jochen Leopold has decided that it’s better to look back before pushing forward, taking it upon himself to develop a VR edition of the classic Star Wars: Jedi Knight II – Jedi Outcast. Enter the fanbase, taking Star Wars to places that the official rights holders wouldn’t dare to. While there have been superficial experiences such as Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine and the add-on content for the PlayStation 4 edition of Star Wars: Battlefront, there’s still nothing in the way of a fully-fledged gaming experience. Bringing a deep, believable Star Wars experience to virtual reality (VR) is the holy grail of the new medium for many.
